A prominent figure in the Sandalwood industry, actor Puneeth Rajkumar left an unfillable void in the Indian film industry, after his untimely death in 2021. Although he left the world suddenly, Puneeth’s stardom remains the same, remembered regularly by his fans and fellow celebrities alike. During the Appu Cup Season 2 inauguration ceremony, actor Sriimurali, who is also the late actor’s cousin, shared how much of a fitness freak he was.
According to the information given, Puneeth Rajkumar was a very active person and participated in several physical activities. He engaged in exercises regularly, even after a shoot he made time for a workout. One of his favourite sports was shuttle badminton.
As Appu Cup Season 2 is about to start in a few days, so during its commencement ceremony actor Sriimurali talked about Puneeth Rajkumar’s fitness habits. According to him, the late actor wanted the industry to come together for sports and games. The Ugramm actor expressed his happiness about being a part of Puneeth’s wish, which was fulfilled.
Speaking further about Puneeth’s wish, Sriimurali revealed that he wanted the games to happen outside the confines of Bengaluru. He added, “Puneeth also wanted our artists to come together and play the game in foreign countries through those games.”

As per the reports, Appu Games Season 2 is set to commence on July 26 and will be played on July 27 and 28. To honour Puneeth Rajkumar, games of shuttle badminton will be played. 10 teams will participate in the games and each team will have a captain. Many artists from the Kannada film industry will participate in the games. The late actor’s wife, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar will grace the occasion with her presence.
