Recently, on August 1, the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TPFC) issued a red card to Raayan star Dhanush. The decision came after it was informed that the actor was given an advance payment for a film from Sri Thenandal Films, but he never turned up for a shoot. The red card prevented the actor from signing any projects till the unresolved matters were concluded. The filmmakers were strictly instructed to seek permission from the council before signing up Dhanush for a film. However, now, after a meeting with the council, the ban imposed on the actor has been lifted and he has resumed his shooting.
After the red card, the Captain Miller actor had a meeting with the council. As per reports, Dhanush offered assurance to the members regarding his commitment to solving the disputes. This led the Council to lift the ban on Dhanush for one film. Now, the actor officially announced that all the issues between him and the producers Kathiresan and Murali Ramasamy have been resolved.
Dhanush released a statement where he expressed his gratitude towards Nadigar Sangam, officially known as the South Indian Artistes’ Association. He shared, “Your rightful intervention and guidance helped us to overcome the challenges and reach a mutually beneficial agreement. I would like to acknowledge the negotiations held by the Producers’ Council, The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), and the South Indian Actors’ Association in coming to an agreement that would benefit all parties concerned.”
He further thanked the Nadigar Sangam since he was able to resume the shoot on September 11. He thanked Nassar, Karthi, Vishal, Karunas and Poochi Murugan for their support. He added that solving these issues helped in setting a positive precedent for the industry.
As per the Hindustan Times reports, Dhanush’s next directorial will cast Arun Vijay in the lead. The Vaathi actor will play an important role in the film. Other details about the cast and crew of the film have been kept under wraps. Meanwhile, Dhanush was last seen in the film Raayan, an action crime drama that has minted about Rs 160 crore at the box office. It marked the actor’s 50th film.
His next directorial is Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, a romantic comedy. It will be backed under his banner Wunderbar Productions. He also will be collaborating with Prakash Raj for an upcoming film whose details have not been revealed yet.
