Ananya Panday is gearing up for her OTT debut web series titled Call Me Bae. The trailer has been released recently and it has received an overwhelming response from all corners. Today, the actress shared a BTS video from the sets of the series and thanked all her fans for the love. She mentioned that she is grateful.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress shared a video in which we can see her screaming for a scene. Ananya is looking pretty in a brown sweatshirt and pants. “Trying to perfect the “chick-flick scream” for #CallMeBae but honestly I’m screaming with joy at all the love we’ve gotten on the trailer – grateful beyonddddd (link in bio for those who haven’t watched it yet!),” read the caption. As soon as she shared the post, Varun Sood reacted, “Who got you screaming like that.”

The trailer revealed that Ananya will be seen in a colourful avatar, trying to live the bougie life in Mumbai. Landing in Mumbai, she is forced to survive in a house which has a leaking roof, travel in autos and find a job. She eventually gets hired in a newsroom with Vir Das as a boss. Grumpy, stern and seemingly focusing on hard news, Vir dismisses Ananya in the first go. The series will follow Ananya’s struggles and shed light on her survival skills. Ananya plays the role of a youngster from South Delhi who lands in Mumbai after her husband seemingly loses their money.
The trailer brings back memories of Two Broke Girls, an American television sitcom which starred Kat Dennings as Max Black and Beth Behrs as Caroline Channing. The basic premise of the American show and the new series are similar.
Call Me Bae is a Dharmatic Entertainment production, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra as executive producers. The series is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D’Cunha. This 8-part series stars Ananya Panday in the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
