Ajay Devgn And Rohit Shetty Reveal The Origins Of Singham’s Iconic Dialogue ‘Aata Majhi Satakli’
Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty recently shared that they never thought “Aata majhi satakli” would become a cultural phenomenon.

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty have once again joined forces to enthral the viewers with another film of the Singham franchise. Singham Again, the upcoming film in the cop universe, will hit the theatres this Diwali, November 1. Ahead of its release, the actor-director duo attended a special screening in Mumbai, where they talked about their respective experience of filmmaking and shared how the iconic dialogue “Aata majhi satakli” came into being.

During the interaction with the media, when a reporter asked about the dialogue, the director shared, “Genuinely, we had just written those characters—Singham and the villain Jaykant Shikre. They were Maharashtrians. It became an iconic line. He just says that line once in the film. Otherwise, it is said by the villain, Jaykant Shikre, throughout the film.” Revealing that he never thought the dialogue would become a cultural phenomenon, Shetty added, “We never thought… for us it was just a line! Again, a language which everybody says now! We never thought about it that way.”

Ajay was in agreement with Shetty’s thoughts. He said, “At that moment, it was just a line! There are many lines, and nobody knows what comes after. While doing it, that was just a line, and then it became a cult line.”

Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited action drama Singham Again, the fifth film in his Cop Universe and the third part of the hit Singham franchise, boasts a star-studded cast of Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Tiger Shroff. Before the release, the OG Singham movie was re-released in theatres on October 18.

On October 7, the makers dropped the trailer of Singham Again, hinting at a story similar to that of the mythological epic Ramayana, highlighting the victory of good over evil. As the trailer progresses, Kareena Kapoor, who plays Ajay Devgn’s on-screen wife, is abducted by a menacing Arjun Kapoor. Just like Ramayana, Bajirao Singham (Devgn) embarks on a mission to rescue his wife from the evil villain. Singham receives help from his fearless army- Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Sangram ‘Simmba’ Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh), Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Tiger Shroff during his rescue mission.

Singham Again is produced under Rohit Shetty Picturez, Reliance Entertainment, Jio Studios and Devgn Films.
