Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is one of the auspicious Hindu festivals, celebrated annually on the third lunar day (Tritiya) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Vaishakh. This year, it will be celebrated on May 10.
It holds a special significance in Sanatan Dharma, with various auspicious activities, including purchasing gold jewellery, which is believed to bring prosperity and good fortune. The word “Akshaya” itself means eternal or imperishable, signifying the belief that any activity performed on this day will bring everlasting prosperity and success. The festival is celebrated with a lot of pomp and grandeur throughout the country.
According to astrological calculations, many wonderful combinations are being created on the day of Akshaya Tritiya this year, which will result in manifold results. Astrologer Pandit Kalki Ram from Ayodhya said that the festival of Akshaya Tritiya is annually observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh. This year, it falls on May 10. The Tritiya Tithi will start at 4:17 am on May 10 and will end at 2:50 pm on May 11.
On this day, the auspicious time for worship or purchasing gold is from 5:33 am to 12:18 pm. Purchasing gold, silver etc. on Akshaya Tritiya is believed to bring the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi throughout the year.
According to astrological calculations, auspicious Sukarma Yoga is being formed on this day. The formation of this yoga is starting at 12:08 pm on Akshaya Tritiya and it will end at 10:03 am the following day, making it an opportune time for jewellery purchases. Additionally, Ravi Yoga is also being formed on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. In astrology, both these yogas are considered to be very auspicious. Alongside, there is also a coincidence of Rohini and Mirgi Shira Nakshatra on this day.
