Youth Olympics: Boxer Solanki loses in semis, to play for bronze
Boxer Gaurav Solanki will take on Muhammad Ali of Great Britain in the bronze medal match at Youth Olympic Games.

Nanjing: Boxer Gaurav Solanki will fight out for a bronze medal in men's flyweight (52kg) after he lost his semi-final bout against Ping Lyu of China in the second Youth Olympics on Sunday.

Solanki lost 0-3 on points to his Chinese opponent and he will take on Muhammad Ali of Great Britain in the bronze medal match on Monday.

In athletics, Ajay Kumar Saroj finished fifth in men's 1500m race 'A' final with a personal best timing of 3:46.92.

Ajay made a fine effort but he finally could not cope with the pace of African runners towards the end of the race.

Kenyan Gilbert Kwemoi led the race from start to finish to clock 3:41.99 for the gold. Ethiopian Mulugeta Asefa (3:45.08) and Djibouti's Mohamed Ismail Ibrahim (3:45.72) were the other medalists.

Javelin thrower Pushpa Jakhar will compete in the final on Monday.

India are being represented by 32 athletes and they have won one medal so far through weightlifter Ragala Venkat Rahul on Thursday.
