Additional Commissioner of Police Raman Gupta confirmed that a case has been registered and stated that the perpetrator was known to the victim.

In a tragic incident at a PG accommodation in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area, a 24-year-old woman from Bihar, identified as Kriti Kumari, was brutally murdered late Tuesday night. Kriti Kumari, who worked at a private company in the city, had recently moved into the VR Layout PG in Koramangala.

According to reports, the assailant gained entry to the PG premises around 11:10 to 11:30 PM and proceeded to Kriti Kumari’s room on the third floor. Armed with a knife, the attacker allegedly strangled her to death. The incident came to light when other residents heard commotion from her room and alerted the authorities.

The Koramangala Police, upon arriving at the scene, initiated a thorough investigation. Additional Commissioner of Police Raman Gupta confirmed that a case has been registered and stated that the perpetrator was known to the victim. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect, who is currently on the run, he added.

Police sources revealed that three special teams have been formed to track down the accused. They are meticulously examining Kriti Kumari’s mobile phone records, including call details, and scrutinizing CCTV footage from the PG premises. Investigators are also gathering information on the victim’s recent activities and interactions.

Preliminary inquiries suggest a possible romantic angle to the crime. There are suspicions that Kriti Kumari was killed by a young man she was romantically involved with. Kriti Kumari reportedly escorted the young man into the PG around 11:30 PM on Tuesday night. It appears that after returning from dinner, Kriti Kumari and the young man entered a room together. Later, a confrontation ensued between them in the room, leading to the suspected murder.

Reports suggest that the young woman had only recently joined the PG, with the accused assisting her with luggage upon arrival two days ago. Allegedly, he claimed to be her brother when challenged by security, allowing him to enter under the pretext of arranging a quick departure.
