HUBLI: Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that he would not set any deadline for completing 'Aasare' for relocation of flood-hit villages of North Karnataka, but houses will be distributed as and when the construction is completed.Yeddyurappa told reporters that his government was criticised by the opposition and media as well, for not completing the project, but they have failed to understand the scale of the project of relocating around 300 villages by building 59,000 houses.Out of the 59,000 houses, 46,000 were already in the final stage and some of them have already been distributed to the beneficiaries."I will not set any deadline for Aasare. There will be no delay in distribution of houses once the construction is over and officials have also been directed to wait for the official function to distribute them," he added.The CM said that holding the legislative session was the main agenda before the government and Cabinet expansion could be thought of only after that.
