New Delhi: Very few designers can launch a guerilla attack on your senses like Charu Parashar can. And this year at one of fashion's biggest outings she outdoes herself.

Known for her flamboyance, Charu's collection at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) incorporates three bold colours in a fairy tale palette that concocts the tribal feel.

Charu's designs are traditionally flowy with a strong bias towards cotton viscose, chiffon and georgette. The prints in black struck perfect balance with shocking pinks, greens and oranges. There was a mix of circular and abstract prints following a grey to black gradient.

The idea to put a hint of crystals, highlighting the prints was a glamorous approach to the aesthetics of shapes.

There was definitely a direction to the countered geometry. Usage of tulle was an evident feature playing under and over the surfaces. The necklines and hemlines, the sleeves and the armholes, complimented the free spirited damsel with see-through surfaces.

Starting with pink, the collection moved towards greens and then to oranges, dominated by clear black prints. The prints struck a chord in between the palette. Silhouettes were freely-flowing bodies, after which fitted shapes combined with flowy panels.

Whats haute: Street wearability

Whats not: The colours are too strong and patterns a little repetitive.

What's your reaction?
