Why no special schemes for rape victims, SC asks govt

New Delhi: Taking a note of the compensation offered to rape victims, the Supreme Court on Monday asked the government why a special scheme has not been designed for the victims of such a henious crime.

The apex court asked the central and the state governments if there are any social security schemes like insurance, housing or employment for rape victims.

The court was hearing a case in which two minor girls were raped in Indore.
