Karnataka: Amid growing protest over leaked Class 12 Chemistry question paper in Karnataka, state education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar refused to step down on Friday and assured stern action against the persons behind the leakage.
While suspecting insider's hand behind the question paper leak, he said, "We are suspecting that someone from the board is involved in the leakage and stern action will be taken against the culprit."
"I am taking the moral responsibility for the leakage and ordered a probe in to the matter. BJP has no moral right to seek my resignation," he added.
On Thursday, the Chemistry question paper for the Class XII exam of Karnataka state board was leaked for the second time within a period 10 days.
With the lapses in securing the question paper, the Opposition has demanded the resignation of Rathnakar. So far the government has suspended 40 officials from the state education department.
The examination has now been rescheduled for April 12.
