Vigilance probe ordered against P V Unnikrishnan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has ordered a vigilance inquiry into the charges of financial irregularities raised against Planning Board former member P V Unnikrishnan by Kerala Congress (M) leader P C George.
There are two major charges that have been raised by George. One, his activities related to Agency for NonConventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT). George, in his memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, said that as the Planning Board member in charge of renewable energy he had engineered illegal backroom appointments to ANERT. One of the appointments made was that of his wife.
