CHENNAI: The newly installed Advance Surface Movement Guidance and Control System at the Chennai Airport’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower was inspected by Union Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi on Saturday.According to sources, after arriving at 8.45 am, he proceeded to the Air Traffic Services Complex, where the ATC tower is situated, along with Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman VP Agrawal, Airport Director EP Hareendranathan, Regional Executive Director D Devaraj.After inspecting various units functioning there, he also examined other new developments including the restructuring of upper air space in the Chennai Flight Information Region and integration of eight radars in the Southern Region. He spent nearly an hour at the tower, sources added.
