Amman (Dubai): British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said on Thursday Britain would help Jordan to identify those responsible for the bombings in three hotels in Jordan?s capital city Amman.
Fifty-seven people have died and over 300 have been injured in the attack on the Grand Hyatt, Radisson SAS and Days Inn hotels.
Businessmen and diplomats from Europe and the United States frequent the hotels, in the commercial Jebel Amman district.
Jack Straw is in Amman to meet Jordanian Foreign Minister Farouk Qasrawi.
"We all pay the price for being civilised. Terrorism has struck all countries. This is a worldwide evil. I have come here today to say that Jordan's grief is our grief."
He also added that two forensic experts from Scotland Yard who happened to be in Beirut were on their way to Jordan to help in the investigations.
"We stand ready to send more any more assistance that the Jordanian government wishes," he said adding that Jordan could count on immediate British help to catch the perpetrators of the bombings.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Qasrawi on his part stated that Jordan remained unbowed by the attacks.
"We stand firm against terrorism and are determined to carry through our policies. We appreciate the assistance and help the foreign minister has offered us. UK has suffered due to terrorism and so has Jordan. We stand united in the face of this evil," he said.
Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for Wednesday's bombings, according to a message posted on the internet.
