HYDERABAD: The Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) geared up for its second public meeting at Tandur in Ranga Reddy district on Friday amid threats from separatist organisations including the Telangana Rashtra Samiti that they would obstruct the meeting. The TTDF held its first meeting at Karimnagar recently and Tandur is the second in the series planned to step up the demand for a Telangana state. The forum is making allout efforts to mobilise people in large numbers for the meeting. "We are committed to Telangana. We will announce our approach and plans," senior leader T Devender Goud said."The forum appeals to all Telanganites including intellectuals, students and employees to cooperate with us and make the Tandur meeting a success. They should not fall into the trap of the TRS, which is obstructing our meeting with the sole aim of destabilising the TDP in the region," Goud said.He alleged that plans were being chalked out in the TRS office on the wayts of obstructing the meeting. This was undemocratic, he alleged. He also appealed to the Telangana JAC not to toe the TRS line and do as bid by the TRS. "If anything happens on Friday, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and TJAC chairman Kodandaram will be held r e spons ibl e , " Goud warned."If any organisation or leader differs with our philosophy, they may hold a big meeting to announce their viewpoint. But obstructing our meetings is not fair," Goud said.Another senior TDP leader K Srihari wondered how representatives of united Andhra like chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and Union minister D Purandeswari were addressing meetings in Telangana without any obstruction."Is it fair to obstruct the meetings of TTDF, which is committed to Telangana and demanding a bill in Parliament for a separate state?" he questioned. The TRS and Congress were trying to destabilise the TDP in the region, Srihari alleged and added that one day the TRS would merge with the Congress as has happened with the Praja Rajyam Party. He wondered why KCR or Kodandaram did not utter a single word against AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad's statement that they could not choose from the options given by the Srikrishna Committee."The Congress is once again trying to hoodwink the people of Telangana," Srihari alleged.TTDF convener E Dayakar Rao said they were ready for a debate on who was obstructing the formation of Telangana.
