KARIMNAGAR: Following protests over a question on the sensitive Telangana issue in the SSC pre-final Telugu paper-II on Saturday, Karimnagar district education officer JVSP Purnananda Rao issued a memo to Narasimhachary, the Telugu teacher who prepared the question paper on Sunday. The question read that ‘koddi rojullone Telangana vastundi’ (separate Telangana will be a reality in few days) and the students were asked to write the opposite of the verb in the sentence. This reportedly hurt the sentiments of the people and even led to a debate among the teaching community. On Saturday evening, TRSV activists tore the question papers and set them afire.“The DEO should have checked the question paper before distribution to schools,” several intellectuals felt.Meanwhile, Narasim hachary, a teacher at Dhangarwadi Government High School, tendered his apology to Telangana supporters.“Being born in Karimnagar, I too support the cause of Telangana and prepared the question just to create awareness about the issue,” he said.“Chary actively participated in the Sakala Janula Samme and fought for the cause of Telangana,” his colleagues recalled.
