HYDERABAD: Condemning the remarks of Union minister and incharge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Telangana, the Telanagana Congress leaders on Wednesday demanded the removal of Azad from the  post of incharge of AP affairs. It was reported that Azad, in Beijing, had made a statement stating that a decision on Telangana state cannot be taken without a consensus among legislators of all regions in Andhra Pradesh. The issue cannot move an ‘inch’ without the state Assembly passing a unanimous resolution, he said.Rajya Sabha member and Telangana Congress steering committee chairman K Keshava Rao warned of taking the issue to Sonia Gandhi’s notice for necessary action. He further warned to reveal of names of those persons who were behind Azad’s statement on Telangana. In fact, the Union minister had recently talked against Telangana after having a meeting with PRP president Chiranjeevi at the latter’s residence here, he remarked. “States like Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh were formed without any Assembly resolutions. Article 3 of the Constitution is enough to create a state,’’ he remarked.Keshava Rao asserted that there was no going back on the resignations issue by the T Congress public representatives. He warned of intensifying the agitation  after July 31 if no decision comes from the high command.Another minister P Shankar Rao also found fault with the Azad’s statement on Telangana. He dared Azad (who was J&K chief minister earlier) to first bring consensus in his state. Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy said that a consensus among legislators of all three regions would be possible only if the Congress and TDP makes their stand clear on T. Assembly resolution would be passed if the Congress and TDP issues whip to its members, he added.MLA R Damodar Reddy demanded Azad to step down from the post of incharge of AP affairs. They would besiege Hyderabad city by mobilising more than 20 lakh people on August 1 if no decision is forthcoming by the month end, he warned.
