Team India to attend 'rolling' camp
The selected players will then go to Chennai to play two practice matches there on September 8 and 9.

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah said on Monday that around 18 players will be called for the "rolling" camp.

The camp will be held in batches from August 30 to September 6 in Bangalore.

"The purpose of this is that since we would be selecting the Champions Trophy team as well as the tri-series team in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the selectors will be able to test more players ahead of the selection of the squads in Mumbai on September 3," Shah said.

Shah added that Punjab medium-pacer VRV Singh along with another couple of players would be attending the camp, which will also have members of the squad that went to Sri Lanka for the Unitech Cup.

The selected players will then go to Chennai to play two practice matches there on September 8 and 9 before the team leaves for the tri-series on September 9 evening, he said.

The triangular event in Kuala Lumpur featuring India, Australia and the West Indies would be played between September 12 and 24.

The tentative "rolling" camp schedule is:

August 30 and 31: Ajit Agarkar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Ramesh Powar and Mohammad Kaif.

September 2-4: Munaf Patel, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rudra Pratap Singh, Suresh Raina and Shantakumaran Sreesanth.

September 5 and 6: Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Mongia and VRV Singh.
