Taliban rules out role in Kashmir who seek no Shariya
Sufi Mohammad points out that Kashmiris never asked for Shariya.

Islamabad: The Taliban has ruled out meddling into the Kashmir issue as Kashmiris are not demanding Shariya or Islamic law .

This came from Sufi Mohammad, the leader of Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariya Muhammadi (TSNM), a banned religious group negotiating with Pakistani authorities on behalf of the militants.

TSNM chief and cleric Sufi Mohammad said in an interview to Pakistan's Geo TV that they would not interfere as Kashmir does not ask for Shariya.

Geo TV: Kashmiri people are struggling for their freedom and they also seek Shariya or Islamic law in Kashmir. Pakistan also claims Kashmir to be its internal part. Why don’t you help them?

Sufi Mohammad: This is not possible because Kashmiris have never asked for Shariya law. They are fighting for their liberation.

Geo TV: It means Kashmiri jihad has nothing to do with Pakistanis?

Sufi Mohammad: We never heard from Kashmiris that they want Shariya law. They say they want accession to Pakistan and Pakistan also calls Kashmir its integral part. No mention of Shariya ever.
