New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi met the passengers injured in Samjhauta Express blasts at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
She spent about 10 minutes with the patients, including nine Pakistani nationals, who were admitted to the burns ward, enquiring about their condition.
Sonia also spoke to Pakistani nationals Shaukat Ali and Ruksana, who lost their five children in the tragedy. The couple's sixth child Aksa is also admitted at the hospital with injuries.
The UPA chairperson was briefed by the doctors about patient’s condition and nature of injuries. Thirteen people, including ten Pakistanis, were shifted from Civil Hospital in Panipat to Safdarjung hospital on Tuesday. One Harif Mohd, a Pakistani national, succumbed to his injuries this morning.
Haryana Governor A R Kidwai, also the acting Lt Governor of Delhi, met the patients at the hospital.
