Sobha John to be in custody for 10 days

KOCHI: The accused in Sabarimala Thantri case and Varapuzha sex scam, Sobha John and Bachu Rahman and K Anil were handed over to police custody for 10 days beginning Tuesday. The accused were presented before the Paravoor Judicial First Magistrate and were released to police custody.The police which conducted a meeting at Aluva decided to interrogate Sobha John in connection with her involvement in Varapuzha sex scam in which a minor girl was presented to over 100 people.  The confidential meeting headed by Aluva SP Harshita Attaluri decided to keep her away from the presence of the media and reprimanded any official in the special investigating team under CI George Joseph from giving any details about the investigation to the media.The meeting also discussed questions prepared to interrogate Sobha and other accomplices. Sobha will also be taken to various places as part of collecting evidence. The investigation will also look into the role played by Bachu Rahman and K Anil in the case, the police said. The special investigation team had submitted a  letter before the court on Monday seeking her custody.
