Kerala is going the ‘smart’ way in the power sector. The Union Power Ministry has sanctioned Rs 28 crore to pilot the ‘Smart Grid’ project, the in-thing worldwide for making power distribution efficient and reliable, in the state.

In phase I, the Smart Grid project will be made applicable for 25,000 LT (Industrial) consumers in the state.
