Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress-led United Democratic Front on Wednesday termed as "total failure", the six month-rule of the CPI-M-led LDF government in Kerala.
The LDF government has "failed" to implement any of the promises it made during the election period, UDF Convener P P Thankachan said after the Front leaders meeting.
"Suicides by debt-ridden farmers and custodial deaths have continued even after the LDF came to power," he said, pointing out that the LDF came to power promising to take steps to end farmers' suicides and custodial deaths.
He said that to strengthen the UDF's activities, a co-ordination committee of Front leaders will be constituted. It was also resolved to appoint a political secretary for the front, he added.
To a question, he said differences between Front partners — JSS and KC(M) — with the Congress have been ironed out.
The UDF also demanded a judicial probe into the security lapse during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to the state on October 31, he added.
