BANGALORE: It appears that the Centre did not reciprocate positively to the state's demand for coal linkage as state Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje on Wednesday said that she is dissatisfied with the assurance of the Central government for coal linkage for Karnataka. "We have requested the Centre for the allocation of around three lakh tonnes of coal annually. However, with Union ministries remain uncommitted over the issue due to which, six of our new projects are stuck in the pipeline," Shobha said on the sidelines of the KPCL foundation day celebrations.
All our projects even have environmental clearances, but the coal issue has stunted any possibility of progress, Shobha added. Both Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 13 to discuss about the issue of coal linkage.
