Hundreds of cases languish as SC contemplates whether actors should stand up during national anthem.
New DelhiWith a petition lodged in the Supreme Court over the use of the National Anthem in the movie Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gam, the SC said that it would examine whether it was right for Bollywood to commercially exploit the National Anthem.
A bench headed by Chief Justice R C Lahoti said it would also examine if it was appropriate for actors in a film to stand up when the National Anthem is played.
The bench said this, while reviving a petition regarding the use of the National Anthem in the movie Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gam.
The court, however, made it clear that it would not go into the question of certification issued to the blockbuster.
