Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud offered prayers at the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala on Sunday. Entering the shrine with his entourage through the Vaikuntha queue complex, the Chief Justice prayed in the sanctum sanctorum.
After offering prayers, Chandrachud and his family members received Vedic blessings from the temple priests at Ranganayakula Mandapam. Subsequently, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer J Shyamala Rao presented a picture of the deity and tirtha prasadams (consecrated food) to the CJI.
The CJI along with his family arrived at the Tirupati airport on September 28 as part of his two-day pilgrimage.
Later, he visited the Sri Padmavati Ammavaru temple in Tiruchanur, Andhra Pradesh where temple priests gave him a traditional welcome. He was accompanied by family members.
