CHENNAI: Even 45 days after it was introduced, the Samadhan Scheme for pending property documents, introduced on November 1, is yet to gain momentum. The scheme will be in force for three months and during the first half of the period, of the 34879 pending documents, only 4441 documents have been settled till December 9 netting a revenue of `20.66 crore. Finance Minister O Panneerselvam, in his budget speech on August 4, said that the Samadhan Scheme was expected to generate Rs 125 crore. The scheme will be in force till January 31, 2012.Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registraion, Agri SS Krishnamurthy, reviewed the progress of the Samadhan Scheme on Tuesday, it was informed that `541.31 crore has been locked up under pending property documents. He directed the authorities to expedite the implementation of the Samadhan scheme and dispose all the pending documents. Till the end of November this year, the Registration Department has earned a revenue of `3,964.80 crore which is 23.17 per cent higher than last year.
