Rural development week at all panchayats

The week from October 2 will be celebrated as rural development week by the panchayats.

On October 2, a cleanliness drive will be initiated at all pubic places, public institutions and schools. All projects related to cleanliness to be implemented by the panchayats, Suchitwa Mission, Kudumbasree and NSS will begin on that day as per the guidelines issued by the Local Self-government Principal Secretary for the observance of the rural development week.

 On October 3, a meeting of the people and organisations who had undertaken financial projects as per the Swarna Jayanthi Grama Rozgar Yojana will be convened and  the possibility of marketing of those projects will be evaluated. A recovery campaign at the initiative of the banks will also be organised.

 Finding families who would like join, but who has not been able to until now will be the agenda for October 4. Seminars on sanitation and convening of advisory committees will also be held on this day.

 An action plan for effectively implementing housing schemes of the panchayats as well as the Indira Vikas Yojana will be worked out after discussions on October 5.  October 6 will be totally devoted to sanitation drives, especially for setting up of solid waste management plants at least one in a ward in each panchayat and also for drawing up separate projects for government schools, markets, hospitals and hostels.  An evaluation of the RIDF activities will be done on October 7. On the concluding day of the Rural development week, a meeting will be convened for the  review of the annual activities. The inauguration of the new activities under the PMGSY will also be held on this day.
