THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Rubco exhibition cum sale, which kicked off at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium the other day, is witnessing a steady crowd with each passing day. Furniture made out of pine wood, imported from New Zealand, is the main attraction of the exhibition this year. The furniture that are made of treated pine wood have great durability and high quality, says Madhu, assistant marketing Manager of Rubco. Tables that range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 28,000 have been displayed at the exhibition. Another attraction is the cots which are designed in various shapes and sizes. There is a huge collection of furniture named ‘home series excel’ made out of treated rubber. A relatively new range of furniture named ‘fusion furniture’ is also a major highlight. Fusion furniture is made of wood, steel and glass. Dining tables with new designs which range from Rs 9,000 to Rs 45,000 have been lined up for the exhibition. “People want new designs and experiments in furniture to make their home look lively,” says Bijoy, sales manager. Sofa sets, doors, kitchen shelves, book shelves, furniture for children and wardrobes have also been lined up. Mattresses ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 30,000 are displayed. Relief mattresses which claim to cure orthopaedic problems, Memory Renova, a new type of mattress which is very soft and light weight, are some other items spread out here. “Relief mattress has huge demand among the people as it is helpful to cure orthopaedic problems,” claims M G Sajilal, Rubco’s district distributor. Baby oil, herbal hair tonic and herbal massage oil are also kept for sale. Rubco light weight slippers are also available here. All products in the exhibition have 10 per cent discount. The exhibition will end on September 6.
