HYDERABAD: The APSRTC management is making arrangements for payment of salaries for the strike period during September on November 1. Salaries amounting to Rs 110 crore for the strike period were not paid to about 60,000 employees working in the Telangana region.The employees went on strike for 26 days from September 19 to October 16. After they called off the strike, the management agreed to treat the strike period as ‘earn leave’ and promised to make make payment for the period.But with cash crunch hitting the corporation, it told union leaders to wait till November 10 to get salaries for September. The union leaders appealed to the government to release funds to the RTC to enable it to pay salaries immediately as the employees were going through a tough time. They met managing director B Prasada Rao and other officials and once again sought payment of salaries. Following it, the management decided to pay salaries on November 1.According to a senior official, a circular was issued on Thursday to to the employees that they would be paid salaries for the entire strike period and for the working days of this moth on November 1.
