HYDERABAD: The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) has announced the admission schedule for all its three campuses. Vice-chancellor RV Raja Kumar said here on Wednesday that the RGUKT will admit 1,000 students in each of its three campuses at Basara, Nuzvid and RK Valley (Kadapa) this academic year for six-year integrated B.Tech course.Similar to last year, the merit list will be generated based on the ‘deprivation score’ model, instead of the mandal-specific model followed by the university earlier. For this academic year, the deprivation score weightage will add 4 per cent to the SSC marks obtained by the applicants from non-residential government schools including zilla parishad and municipal schools.Despite the first batch of integrated B.Tech students has moved to fifth year of the course, RGUKT still awaits the approval for awarding degrees. To accommodate the additional 1,000 on each campus, RGUKT is going in for an infrastructure overhaul at a cost of Rs 600 crore granted by the state government.“The hostels, scheduled to be completed by the end of May, may get delayed by a few weeks at most,” said Raja Kumar.
