“Happiness, prosperity and a long healthy life are reserved for those who remember their gurus with respect and adoration,” said eminent musician V Dakshinamoorthy here on Saturday.
He inaugurated Kalanjali-2012, a two-day arts and cultural festival organised by the Kerala Brahmana Sabha (KBS) at the Sarada Kalyana Mantapam, Mattanchery.
Dakshinamoorthy said, “We do everything in our life owing to the blessings of the Almighty God. In fact, it is He who makes us do all things in our life, including dancing, singing, eating and sleeping. The blessings of God and the guru enable human beings to attain perfection.”
KBS state president V Ramalingam presided over the meeting. Dominic Presentation MLA delivered the keynote address. Dakshinamoorthy and his wife Kalyani were honoured at the function.
KBS state vice-president P S Raman, Kalanjali 2012 coordinator G Mani, KBS Ernakulam district unit president V Krishnaswamy and KBS state secretary P Ananthasubramaniam spoke.The competitive arts and cultural events, which are being conducted at five venues in Mattancherry, will conclude on Sunday evening.
