The BJP in Uttarakhand on Monday accused the state government of selling panchayat poll-related documents for over Rs 2 crore even before notification of the election which had been deferred till June 30.
"The state government has started selling nomination papers for panchayat polls even before they could be notified, amassing Rs 2 crore," said state BJP spokesman Prakash Suman Dhyani.
Noting the exercise had been rendered meaningless with the Supreme Court deferring the panchayat polls in Uttarakhand till June 30, the BJP leader demanded that the money spent by people on poll-related documents be refunded to them.
