BANGALORE: Offering support from the state government for the welfare of the five lakh private security personnel in Karnataka, Minister for Labour B N Bacchegowda said that he was willing to consult the representatives of private agencies to know more about their demands.On the occasion of Karnataka Private Security Services Day, he said that he had no details about the private security industry, but was willing to learn more about them as the state labour minister. “Nobody from the industry (private security services) has approached the labour ministry to inform us about how this industry has  been functioning,” he said.Central Association of Private Security Industry Chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh said the Central government has considered introducing a training programme for those aspiring to be a part of the private security services. Among the welfare measures that are yet to be introduced, the programme to secure the future of the girl child of security personnel and construction of a house for each guard are a few. He added that after a meeting with the Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal, they are planning to introduce training at the school-level for those aspiring to be a part of  this profession.Urging the labour minister to set up a committee to discuss the minimum wages of security personnel, FKCCI president JR Bangera said that  security agencies must meet the service standard. Bacchegowda also said that they need to fix a common minimum wage for the private security industry.He added that the agencies must unite and form an association for easier representation.
