OUJAC disrupts varsity interviews

HYDERABAD:  Interviews for appointment of assistant professors of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University were disrupted for a brief while on Monday when members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) staged a dharna alleging injustice to Telangana candidates. Police said that more than 30 members of OUJAC staged a dharna in front of the office of the vice-chancellor, fearing that injustice would be meted out to candidates from the Telangana region . “Since the inception of the university most of the assistant professor posts have been occupied by candidates from the Seemandhra region. We therefore demand an inquiry into the recruitments made in the past,'' B Sri Hari and  other OUJAC leaders said.According to them, for every 20 aspirants from Telangana region, there are 60 aspirants from Seemandhra. “As a result, Telangana candidates are getting a raw deal,'' they alleged. They also submitted a memorandum.
