BANGALORE: Lack of attendance and poor maintenance of documents still haunts Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)'s offices. On examining the attendance registers at BBMP help centre in Dasarahalli, the Standing Committee on Administration found that there were discrepancies in the maintenance of property documents, tax receipts, khatha documents in Ward 6 and Ward 7 offices. On examining the revenue collector's office, it was found that the corporation has lost out on revenue from over 500 properties coming within the jurisdiction of the ward 7 office.
The Committee asked the officials present at the office to issue notices to the land owners immediately. The Committee also warned the officials for not wearing Id cards and uniforms. Amidst reports of illegal khatha documents, the Committee said it is important to ensure proper maintenance of khatha receipts and documents.
