No public toilets for women in city!

HYDERABAD: The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad could soon be known as stink cities as the more than one crore population has only 150 public urinals. What more, around 65 of them are either unused or defunct. But what adds to the shame is that there are no public toilets for women.Though it does not have proper records, a rough survey by the corporation revealed that about 65 public urinals were unused due to poor maintenance or lack of electricity and water supply. A majority of them are not cleaned for days together.Speaking to Express, GHMC officials admitted they have done little to solve the problem. But now, GHMC has proposed to construct as many as 170 public urinals on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) mode.
