The politician made controversial small-talk with women housemates.

New Delhi: After the much talked about, unexpected exit of the British contestant Jade Goody, Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam became the first contestant to be voted out on Friday night.

Nirupam was up for elimination with another contestant Raja Choudhary. However, Choudhary received more negative votes than Nirupam from the House inmates.

"I have enjoyed (the show) very much. I will meet you (all) outside," Nirupam told the Bigg Boss housemates while leaving.

Nirupam – whose netagiri (bossing around) clearly did not go down well with his housemates – was also seen hugging his new-found friends before making his exit.

He also shared his experiences with host Shilpa Shetty. "The first few days I was missing my home and work, but since the past two-three days I was enjoying myself and had become comfortable."

However, he admitted that he could not get along with everyone, though he struck a good rapport with comedian Ehsaan Qureshi and singer Debojit Saha.

Nirupam, who got as many as 10 nominations from other house members in the first nomination episode aired Monday, had expressed a desire to leave the house.

Nirupam has created much controversy on the show in which 13 people, mostly celebrities, are required to spend three months closeted in a house sans any communication with the outside world. The winner will receive a prize of Rs.750,000.

On Wednesday's episode, the politician told house-member Monica Bedi that he would help her get a house in Mumbai and in the following episode, he commented on item girl Sambhavna Seth's "revealing" style of dressing and profession.

He told Sambhavna, "A woman's izzat (self respect) lies in covering up her body. Since item girls have to dance in revealing clothes, why do you do such a job? Indian women are supposed to have a certain amount of shame."

According to Sambhavna, when she came out fully dressed, Nirupam made a fresh dig at her saying: "My words have brought some change in you. I notice that you have started to wear fully covered clothes now."

While leaving, he told Shilpa that he had never intended to make a personal remark on Sambhavna and that it was just a general statement.

On Thursday, when all house-mates were asked to take part in a paper dance, Nirupam refused to participate as he considered it "undignified".

A vote-out nomination is held every Monday and a nominated contestant is evicted every Friday based on audience votes. The second season of the reality show began on Sunday.
