New package planned for evictees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government is planning for a special rehabilitation package for the people evicted for National Highway development by incorporating positive aspects of Moolampilly and Kerala State Transport Project packages.
A meeting convened by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday decided to constitute a committee headed by the Chief Secretary in this regard. It was also decided at the meeting that the compensation must be paid to the families before they are evicted.Special care must be taken to ensure that no family has to visit government offices for getting compensation after the eviction.
