SAMBALPUR: Like Polonius’ advice to his son in ‘Hamlet’, veteran BJP leader L K Advani exhorted people to neither offer nor take bribe. Advani said the former ministers had been languishing in jail for the 2G scam, courtesy the Supreme Court.Looking visibly tired after a strenuous journey, Advani said the CAG played a vital role in bringing to the fore the irregularities. And it was for the first time that a minister had been sent to jail. He said many leaders are in Tihar Jail and many more are waiting for their turn and this has defamed the country. Pointing out that the 2G scam had stirred up a hornet’s nest in India, he said the country had lost ` 1,76,000 crore. Addressing a mammoth gathering here on Sunday, Advani said his Jan Chetna Yatra was aimed at mobilising public opinion to root out corruption and bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. He reminded people that the government would be cornered if they stand united for a cause. In the last two decades, India definitely moved ahead but scams pulled it down in the path of development. He said it was important to bring back the black money to make India a super power and for the rural India to shine.
