CHENNAI:  Two years on, parents of 19-year-old Radha, Shankaran and Esakimani of Burma Nagar in Vyasarpadi, are yet to get justice for the murder of their daughter. Since there was no breakthrough in the case , despite it being transferred to the CB-CID, the parents are planning to write to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa hoping that she would render them justice. Radha left home on June 30, 2009 for an interview in a telecom company at Egmore, but never returned. Her parents approached the MKB Nagar police after making a vain bid to locate their daughter.A day later, Shankaran identified a body found in Avadi Tank Factory limits as that of Radha. Preliminary investigation by police revealed that the girl was taken in a car with four others. With the suburban police failing to achieve a breakthrough, the case was transferred to the CB-CID in October 2009. But the case is still pending with the agency.“The CB-CID has cracked big cases such as the death of Minister Mariam Pitchai very soon, but they have not been able to do anything in my daughter’s case.” “We took efforts to transfer the case to the CB-CID with the hope of getting early justice. But we still don’t know how our daughter was murdered or who did it,” said Shankaran, who owns a provisions store in Vysarpadi. Concluding that patience, in their case, has not paid off, the parents have now decided to write a letter to the Chief Minister. “If there is a way to meet her(CM), we will even do that. We want justice and the CM is our last hope,” said Esakimani, Radha’s mother. But their decision to write to the Chief Minister  also has another reason. The parents suspect that the son of a local politician belonging to the then ruling party could be involved in their daughter’s murder. So, approaching the CM would not only speed up the case, but also help nab the right person, they felt.Police sources, on the other side, said that they had some clues, but are yet to ascertain if the girl had gone for an interview as known by the parents or had gone elsewhere.  “We have formed two special teams. We have got some clues and we are still probing,” said Inspector Ravikumar.
