NUZVID (KRISHNA): The decomposed body of a 28-year-old youth, Panjagala Gopi Chinmaya Teja, presumed to be missing since Friday, was found in a mango orchard on the Anneraopeta Road here on Sunday.According to the Nuzvid police, they registered a case of missing person after Teja’s father Venkateswara Rao, a retired teacher, lodged a complaint that his son was missing. On being tipped off that spectacles and slippers were found near a pool of blood in the mango garden, police rushed and conducted a search. A dog squad was pressed into service. They found Teja’s body wrapped in a gunny bag in a dumping yard in the orchard. They retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem.It is learnt that Teja, a former ABVP activist, had moved closely with a TV news reporter, Murali, in the past, which was the cause of friction between Murali and another TV news reporter in the town. He had used his friend’s mobile to lodge a complaint against the other reporter two years ago. Learning that Teja had misused his phone, Murali complained against him, after Teja left Nuzvid. With repeated complaints coming from Teja, the TV channels removed the two reporters from service. The police, who initially registered a case of missing later altered it to culpable homicide and criminal offence case.
