New York: As if dressing Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Sienna Miller and Glenn Close on the red carpet was not a big deal, Indian-origin fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra now has in his fame kitty, the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama wear a breezy summer dress from his collection to the American talkshow 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'.
Mohapatra, born in Rourkela, Orissa acquired a Masters degree from Utah State University and went on to pursue fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City. His collections have wowed fashion critics worldwide, with evening gowns being his forte. If you were at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012, you would have seen his flair on the runway but as far as affordability is concerned, as they say, you've got to pay the price for fashion.
