BANGALORE: In yet another dramatic twist to the imprisonment of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, the maverick leader who was first admitted in Jayadeva Hospital and later in the state-run Victoria Hospital, made a return to Parappana Agrahara jail on Wednesday — apparently prompted by adverse media reports.According to some of his followers, Yeddyurappa was deeply upset at the media reports and decided to spend time in jail as “other ordinary jail inmates do”.“Yeddyurappa was adamant and refused to seek treatment at Victoria Hospital,” said dean and director of Bangalore Medical Research Institute of Medical Sciences Dr O S Siddappa. Dr Siddappa also maintained that a series of medical examinations, including urological, neurological and MRI physiotherapy, would have been suggested to him, in addition to asking a diabetalogist to examine him, but from Wednesday morning he expressed desire to be shifted back to the Central Jail hospital so have was referred there.He said that when Yeddyurappa left Victoria Hospital, his sugar levels were quite high, at 368 mg. “We had worked out treatment procedure, but he was adamant on being shifted out,” he added. Doctors treating him added that he was advised medication for two to three days.Meanwhile, reacting to reports on his voluntary retirement, in charge medical superintendent of Victoria Hospital Dr B G Tilak told Express that the health secretary wanted to him to serve as full-time director of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. “It was difficult to hold dual posts at Victoria and Sanjay Gandhi Hospitals, which was not acceptable to the health secretary.”■ Yeddyurappa on Wednesday expresses desire to return to jail, despite doctors working out treatment procedure for him■ Had high blood sugar levels while leaving Victoria Hospital■ Has been referred to the Central Jail HospitalTilak’s ‘Public Bombardment’ Unfair: CMBangalore: Clarifying on the resignation of Medical Superintendent of Victoria Hospital Dr B G Tilak, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that it had nothing to do with former CM B S Yeddyurappa. He said that Dr Tilak had put in his papers on September 15. “But a section of the media highlighted that he tendered resignation after Yeddyurappa was admitted to Victoria Hospital. It is not fair to bombard a person in public,” he said.
