Toonz Academy, the Technopark-based training division of Toonz Animation India, is organising a workshop by Oscar-award winning Australian animator Bruce Petty here on September 25. The workshop session scheduled at Technopark from 8.30 am to 1 pm will cover various aspects of cartooning and animation film-making.
Various streaks of humour, challenges to animation in the current digital age, special skills required for animators and animation’s role in the analysis of current issues are a few listed topics in the workshop.
“Bruce Petty is a living legend and getting first-hand information on animation film-making is a golden opportunity for students. Professional animators and pre-production artists will also benefit from the session,” according to P Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd.
Bruce Petty animated-film Leisure won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film at the 1976 Academy Awards. Bruce Petty has also made a number of other award-winning animated films including ‘Art,’ ‘Australian History,’ ‘Hearts and Minds’ and ‘Karl Marx.’
Toonz Academy offers 12-month Advanced Diploma course in animation. The Academy also offers a portfolio of short-term courses in animation and visual effects.
