HYDERABAD: Disputes between two brothers led to the killing of a 16-month old infant at Shahinayatgunj on Friday. Dasarath, the accused, took away his younger brother’s daughter, Sona, killed her and later dumped the body in a graveyard. He later called up his brother and informed him about the murder. Sona was the daughter of Kishan Lal and Radha, daily wage labourers and residents of Jummerath Bazar. Dasarath, 26, who is unmarried and used to stay at his brother’s place, has been addicted to alcohol and used to frequently quarrel with his brother. Unable to bear the harassment, Kishan Lal drove Dasarath away from the house recently, police said. Dasarath came to Kishan Lal’s house on Friday morning when the couple were away on some work and left the baby in the care of one of their relatives. “Dasarath came to his brother’s house and after sometime went out taking the baby along with him on the pretext of buying idli for her and did not return,” Shahinayathgunj police inspector Guru Raghavendra said. When the couple, on their return, learnt about the baby being taken away by Dasarath, launched a search for their daughter. A little later Dasarath called up his brother stating that he had killed Sona. The couple immediately approached the police who launched a search for Sona and Dasarath.Even as the police were looking out for the accused, Dasarath called up Kishan Lal again around 2.40 p.m and told him that his daughter’s body was at the Imampura Muslim graveyard. Police reached there and found Sona’s body between the graves. A search is on to nab Dasarath.
