She had come to the city on Wednesday to meet her daughter Nagalakshmi, a garment factory worker.  The accused is Ramlingappa, an hearing impaired daily wage worker. According to the police, around 6 am, Ramlingappa,  returned home and enquired with Devamma about his wife. On not being able to hear her response, he turned angry and stabbed her in the neck with a knife, killing Devamma on the spot.The neighbours who saw blood on Ramlingappa’s hands, went inside the house to check what had happened. They found Devamma lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. Ramlingappa was arrested.A case has been registered at Madiwala police station.Guard Found DeadUnidentified miscreants murdered a 48-year-old security guard of a private factory in Peenya police station limits on Thursday. The deceased, Ramegouda alias Krishnappa, was a native of Mandya. He used to reside in Rajgopalnagar along with his family, and had joined the factory as a security guard a week ago.According to the police, the incident came to light at 9.30 am on Friday, when the factory owner noticed that the door of Krishnappa’s shed on the premises of the factory was open. He repeatedly called for Krishnappa, but when there was no response, he went inside and found him lying in a pool of blood. The police suspect that the incident might have taken place between 1 am and 3 am. The miscreants had smashed his head with a stone slab and had feld. Sources said they had also stolen  two tonnes of iron rod from the factory.A case has been registered at Peenya police station and further investigations are on in this connection.Man MurderedA 31-year-old man was murdered by a gang of miscreants, which included his friend on Tulasipur Main Road in Talaghattapura police station limits on Thursday evening. The deceased, Chand Pasha, was a supervisor with a  private firm near his home.According to the police, the incident took place around 6.30 pm, Pasha came out of a bar in an inebriated  along with his friend Komal,  25. Four miscreants who came in a car,  attacked Pasha with machete in front of Nandini Stores and fled. He was shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared he was brought dead, the police said.Investigations revealed that the gang had planned to eliminate him with the help of his friend Komal. Police said Komal had taken Pasha to the bar and he is  absconding after the incident. The miscreants have left the weapons in the spot. The police suspect old rivalry could be a reason for the murder.Cabbie KilledManjunath, 29, a cabbie, was hacked to death by two bike-borne miscreants outside his house in Naidu Layout in Jaraganahalli on Friday night. According to the police, Manjunath came out of the house after dinner at around 10.30 pm. The bike-borne miscreants hacked him to death and fled. Police said Manjunath was an accused in a murder case and had been in judicial custody. The J P Nagar police registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on.Youth SmashedA youth was murdered by his friends over petty reasons while playing cricket in Kempegowda Playgrounds near Vidyapeeta Circle on Thursday. The deceased, Srinivas, 20, was a cable operator. The accused are identified as Ravikumar, Suneel Gowda, Sundeep alias Sandeep , Kishore Kumar, Raghu, Bharath and Ravikanth alias Ravi. All are aged between 19 and 20 years.Investigations revealed that while playing, Srinivas’ team yelled at Kumar’s team for taking wrong decision on bowling. Both the teams engaged in a quarrel and in the melee, Kumar smashed Srinivas’ head with a stone and stabbed him in his chest.
