Malayalam Day fete inauguration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Malayalam Day celebrations and Official Language Week celebrations will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the Secretariat Durbar Hall on Tuesday at 4.30 p.m. Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph will preside over the function. Poet Sugathakumari will be honoured for her overall contributions to the growth of Malayalam language. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb will be the chief guest. Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar will read out the pledge on official language. Chief Minister will present the state-level Official Language Service Award and Information and Public Relations Minister will release the Official Language special edition of Janapatham, said a government release here on Monday.
