Maharashtra: 8-year-old girl raped by two minors

Baramati: An eight-year-old girl was raped by two minor boys in this town of Maharashtra's Pune district, police said in Baramati on Thursday.

The incident came to light only days after the brutal gangrape of a 23-year-old girl in New Delhi.

"The incident took place Wednesday. The boys, known to the victim's family, lured her away by giving her Rs 10. The grandmother of the girl registered a complaint late on Wednesday," an official of the Baramati Police Station, around 120 km from Pune city, told IANS.

The boys have been arrested and were presented before a juvenile court on Thursday. They have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, the official said.

"The boys have confessed to their crime in front of the court," the official said.
