HYDERABAD: Mild tension prevailed at Golconda after locals staged a protest at the old police quarters near the police station alleging that police constables were running flesh trade there.Though a constable was caught red-handed, police officials said they are yet to enquire about the illegal activity.According to sources, three constables of Golconda police station were allegedly using some vacant rooms in the police quarters to run flesh trade since the past one month.The trio allegedly engaged three women for the activity.After coming to know about it, locals allegedly caught two of the women in the vacant flats, locked them inside and staged a dharna.A constable, identified as Madhu, was also found in one of the rooms and was locked up.Golconda police rushed to the spot upon information.Though they did not confirm, it is reported that locals resorted to mild stone pelting on the police vehicle, protesting against the involvement of policemen in the illegal activity.Sources said that apart from Madhu, two other constables were also involved in the flesh trade. A subinspector of police runs the trade, alleged locals.When contacted, Golconda police inspector Syed Jahangir said they had received a petition from the locals. "We are yet to inquire with them," he said.
